Sika MultiPrimer Marine is a solvent-based, non-pigmented epoxy primer for different marine substrates. It is used to improve adhesion on many metals and woods, as well as for Sikasil sealants and adhesives, before applying Sika 1-component polyurethanes. Its moisture-reactive formula forms a thin bonding layer between substrates and adhesives for reliable joint preparation.

SIKA MULTI PRIMER MARINE is a non-pigmented, solvent-based epoxy primer designed for marine applications. It reacts with ambient moisture to form a thin film that acts as an adhesion bridge between different substrates and Sika one-component polyurethane products, as well as selected Sikasil sealants and adhesives. Its formulation makes it suitable for a wide range of metals and woods commonly used in the marine environment.
This primer is intended for professional users who require reliable bonding performance on boats, ships and other marine constructions, ensuring improved adhesion under real working conditions.
SIKA MULTI PRIMER MARINE is formulated specifically for marine bonding and sealing operations where reliable adhesion is required between substrates and Sika one-component polyurethanes or Sikasil products.
When used on transparent or translucent substrates such as float glass and plastics, adequate UV protection is mandatory.
The product is suitable only for experienced professional users. Tests must be carried out on original substrates and under real conditions to confirm adhesion and material compatibility, especially on materials prone to stress cracking.
It can be used to improve adhesion on many metals such as aluminium, steel, galvanized steel and non-ferrous metals, as well as on woods like teak, mahogany, Oregon pine and cork. It can also be used to enhance adhesion of Sikasil sealants and adhesives.
At 23 °C and 50 % relative humidity, the minimum airing time is 30 minutes and the maximum is 24 hours.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and other contaminants. Adhesion can be improved by pretreatments such as sanding, cleaning and activating prior to primer application.
The product is designed to be applied once only. This single application must provide sufficiently dense coverage.
When stored in a sealed container in vertical position, in a dry place at a temperature of ≤ 25 °C, the shelf life is 9 months. After opening, the product should generally be discarded about one month after opening if used frequently, or after two months in case of infrequent use. The 30 ml cans are intended for single use.
If gelation, separation or a significant increase in viscosity is observed, the primer must be discarded immediately.
