Performance and use limits
- With 6000 Series gas/vapour filters: use in concentrations of specified gases or vapours up to 10 × WEL or 1000 ppm (5000 ppm for 6055), whichever is lower (APF = 10). Not for gases/vapours with poor warning properties.
- With 5911 filter: solid and aqueous aerosols up to 4 × WEL (APF = 4).
- With 5925, 2125 or 2128 filters: particulates up to 10 × WEL (APF = 10).
- With 5935, 2135, 6035, 6038 or 2138 filters: particulates up to 20 × WEL (APF = 20).
- With 2128 and 2138: protection against ozone up to 10 × WEL (APF = 10) and relief from nuisance odours and acid gases below WEL.
- With 6038: protection against hydrogen fluoride gas up to 30 ppm and relief from ozone, organic vapours and acid gases below WEL.
- Do not use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres (below 19.5 % by volume oxygen, according to 3M definition).

Cleaning and storage
- Remove gas/vapour and/or particulate filters.
- Clean the facepiece (excluding filters) with 3M 105 face seal cleaners or immerse in warm cleaning solution (max. 50 °C) and scrub with a soft brush. Neutral detergent may be added if necessary. Do not use cleaners containing lanolin or other oils.
- Rinse in fresh, warm water and allow to air dry in a non-contaminated atmosphere.
- Inspect components, especially exhalation valve and seat, before each use. Discard respirator if any part is damaged or deteriorated.
- Store the cleaned respirator away from contaminated areas when not in use, preferably in a sealed container.

Fitting instructions (summary)
- Place the respirator over the mouth and nose, then pull the harness over the crown of the head.
- Take the bottom straps in both hands, position them at the back of the neck and hook them together.
- Tighten the top straps by pulling on the ends until a comfortable, secure fit is achieved.
