1. Is Quick Build Sealer Activator essential for the Quick Build system?

   Yes. The activator is essential for the technology of the product to achieve the required curing and performance of Quick Build Sealer.

2. What is the correct mixing ratio with Quick Build Sealer?

   Mix by volume 4:1:1.5 (Base : Sealer Converter OU3100 : Sealer Activator OA3110). No induction time is required.

3. Do I need to thin the activated mixture?

   Quick Build does not require reduction. However, 5–10% Awlgrip Reducers (T0001, T0002, T0003, T0005) can be added to ease the application experience.

4. On which substrates can the activated Quick Build Sealer be applied?

   Quick Build Sealer (activated with OA3110 and converter) may be applied directly to aluminium, anodized aluminium, gelcoat, fiberglass and existing coatings in good condition, following the specified sanding and degreasing steps.

5. What are the recommended drying and overcoating times of the Quick Build Sealer system?

   At 25°C (77°F), typical values are: touch dry about 45 minutes, hard dry about 7 hours, pot life about 5 hours. Overcoating with Awlcraft 2000, Awlcraft 3000, Awlcraft SE, Awlgrip Topcoat or Perfection Pro by spray is possible from 15 minutes up to 24 hours (4 hours maximum at 35°C). Times vary with temperature.

6. Is the activator suitable for consumer use?

   The system is described for professional, industrial and consumer use, but the product is hazardous and flammable. It should only be handled by persons trained to deal with solvent-borne, two-component coatings and who can follow all safety instructions.

7. Can I apply the activated product at any temperature?

   No. Paint materials should not be applied to surfaces less than 3°C (5°F) above the dew point, to surfaces warmer than 41°C (105°F), or when ambient temperature is below 10°C (50°F) or above 41°C (105°F).

8. How should unused product and waste be disposed of?

   Waste and residues should be disposed of via a licensed waste disposal contractor, following all local, regional and national regulations. Do not allow the product to enter drains or watercourses. Empty containers may retain flammable vapors and must be handled and disposed of with care.

9. What should I do if the activator is inhaled or swallowed?

Exposure controls

• Engineering controls: Use only with adequate ventilation. Employ local exhaust ventilation, process enclosures or other engineering controls to keep airborne concentrations below occupational exposure limits and below lower explosive limits. Use explosion-proof ventilation equipment.
• Environmental controls: Emissions from ventilation or process equipment must comply with environmental protection legislation. Fume scrubbers, filters or equipment modifications may be required to reduce emissions.

Personal protective equipment (PPE)

General hygiene

• Do not eat, drink or smoke in areas where the product is handled, stored or processed.
• Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling and before breaks.
• Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas and wash contaminated garments before reuse.
• Ensure eyewash stations and safety showers are close to workstations.

Eye and face protection
