Applications and use cases

Structural glazing

  • Designed for structural glazing applications where high mechanical performance and long-term durability are required.
  • Widely used in structural glazing of façades, providing load-bearing adhesive joints between glass and supporting frames.

Solar modules and demanding industrial bonding

  • Suitable for bonding of solar modules.
  • Can be used in other highly demanding industrial applications where a structural silicone adhesive is needed.

Substrate compatibility and professional use

  • Adheres excellently to glass, metals, coated metals, plastics and wood.
  • Recommended only for experienced professional users.
  • Tests with actual substrates and real conditions must be carried out to confirm adhesion, compatibility and suitability of all adjacent materials such as gaskets, tapes, setting blocks and other accessories.

Application guidance

  • Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil and dust.
  • Surface treatment depends on the specific substrates and is crucial for a long-lasting bond.
  • Apply with manual, pneumatic or electric piston guns or suitable pump equipment.
  • Joints must be properly dimensioned based on technical values of the adhesive and building materials, exposure, construction design, element size and external loads.
  • Joints deeper than 15 mm must be avoided.
  • Tooling and finishing must be carried out within the skin time, pressing the adhesive against joint flanks. No tooling agents should be used.
  • Uncured material can be removed from tools with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent; cured material can only be removed mechanically.
  • Hands and skin must be cleaned immediately with suitable hand wipes or industrial hand cleaner and water. Solvents must not be used on skin.
  • Cannot be overpainted.
