Patented (US 6.281.321 & EP 0 941290), high-solids, two-component, high-solids hybrid inorganic finish, which contains no free isocyanates. Interfine 979 significantly improves the gloss and color retention exhibited by typical polyurethane finishes as well as offers an improvement in gloss and color retention when compared to first-generation modified epoxy polysiloxane finishes. Interfine 979 also shows the same corrosion resistance and improves mechanical properties compared to traditional epox technology

Interfine 979 is part of International's premium range of polysiloxane finishes. It is designed to provide excellent color preservation and long-term gloss retention, and has a long service life until first maintenance when used as part of a high-performance anti-corrosion system. Interfine 979 is designed for use in those sectors where visual impact is important and a high standard of cosmetic appearance is required. These include high-performance constructions such as bridges, marine structures and farm tanks, as well as general industrial and commercial steel structures where high levels of cosmetic appearance are a key requirement. The dual benefits of corrosion protection and cosmetic appearance offered by Interfine 979 mean that, in addition to providing superior durability, this product also acts as an effective barrier layer similar to a traditional epoxy interlayer, and as such, allows the total number of layers required in a high-performance multilayer system to be reduced – saving costs and improving productivity during application.
