NAUTICCLEAN 17 TEAK STEP 1 is an alkaline degreasing cleaner specially formulated for restoring and maintaining teak wood. Its strong wetting and penetrating power removes stubborn dirt, dark stains, dry mould and grease without altering silicone joints or stainless steel. It uses vegetable-origin surfactants and contains no phosphates, chlorine or NTA.

Used as the first stage in a two-step system, it prepares the wood perfectly for the brightening treatment with TEAK STEP 2, allowing a thorough teak restoration and long-term maintenance.

Teak restoration

NAUTICCLEAN 17 TEAK STEP 1 is designed for deep cleaning and restoration of weathered or heavily soiled teak, removing:

  • Embedded dirt and grime.
  • Darkened and greyish stains.
  • Dry mould residues.
  • Greasy and oily stains.

Recommended restoration procedure

  1. Dilute 1 part of TEAK STEP 1 in 3 parts of water.
  2. Spray or spread the diluted product on the teak to be treated using a soft brush.
  3. Scrub following the grain of the wood.
  4. Leave to act for 10 minutes.
  5. Do not rinse.
  6. Apply the specific teak brightener TEAK STEP 2 with a clean brush.
    • During application of TEAK STEP 2, the wood appearance is progressively revived.
  7. Rinse thoroughly and scrub with a soft deck cleaning brush to avoid damaging the wood fibres.

Everyday maintenance of teak

  • Dosage: 20 ml of TEAK STEP 1 in a bucket of fresh water.
  • Application: Scrub with a soft brush.
  • Rinse: Rinse with fresh water.

Compatibility and precautions of use

  • Does not alter silicone joints (tested in the laboratory).
  • Does not alter stainless steel (tested in the laboratory).
  • Do not apply on aluminium or light alloys.
